So, I thought I'd begin a blog on my website for a place to document my working progress and latest projects!
I'm currently approaching the last few weeks of my final year at university, and therefore a lot of projects are currently underway! One of my current modules is called 'Advanced Specialism' in which we are given the freedom to create whatever piece of film we desire to make. I am working with a friend to create an experimental piece. The initial idea was to base the piece on projections, and so the main chunk of the film was filmed in a studio, using a white backdrop and a projector to project all kinds of whacky, psychedelic videos onto! Movements were created in front of the backdrop so that the projections shone onto the skin/face and produced something quite eccentric.
The idea developed and became based on 'glitch art' of which the context of the film piece was decided to be that it would have no context. A key stage of creating this video, has been exporting images (jpeg's) every few frames of a video and then opening the saved images within a software called 'TextEdit' and playing around with the codec, these are then exported back into the edit and the new 'glitched' images are placed as a sequence which is then exported into a movie. The movie file is then glitches further after playing with some opacity effects!
I've been working strongly on the edit, matching movements to the beats within the audio, so here's a little taster of the piece so far!
Thanks for reading my ramble!
